Greetings 66ers,
No, this is not a letter from your local draft board. I guess that the present depression (recession?) has taken care of any draft possibilities. This is a letter referring to a DVD I did recently about Win Brockmeyer 1907-1980 for family and friends. While it doesn't have the production values of Crazylegs All American or Night of the Living Dead, I had a very very small budget, it does spotlight the life of your old coach. Late in the fall Mark Zelich, Channel 7 in Wausau, sent my sister Patti a videotape of old Brock clips, concerning dad inspiring the troops, conducting practice, coaching and celebrating victories, talking about next year's team, considering retirement and even some comments by Coach Tom Yelich and the young and lovely Helen Brockmeyer.
I had collected a lot of old pictures of Brock from family, newspapers, historical sources and added pictures I had taken with the idea of making a film about Win and Helen called, Skinny and Hoddy. However, it was just not enough material to really follow through and inertia seemed to win the day. Then Mark's gift came and I found that I could at least put something together about Win's football development and coaching career.
So here it is. Enjoy and pass it around to people who might want to remember Brock and relive those glory days of yore. I only have a few addresses of people in Wausau and they are exclusively from the 1958 class reunion. Perhaps some of his old ball players from the '30s, '40s, '50's and 60's might like to see it, but I have no way to get it to them. So, would you pass this information around to your mates and any others who might have had some connection with Brock.
The film on the net is in three parts of 10 minutes apiece, because Youtube will only accept videos that are 10 minutes or less in length. I uploaded a web version to Youtube at:
